Due to the forced conversion of the entire people of Edom, or, as the Romans called the province, Idumea, a tribe which Holy Scripture says God hates 'eternally' became part of the Hebrew people, who were not ETHNICALLY related to the Chosen People. Jesus was NOT a 'Jew' as Benjamin Freedman ( a converted 'Jew' from the 1950's) tried to tell us half a century ago. The "Jews" were ALL Idumeans/Edomites, and they TOOK OVER CONTROL of the Roman province of Judea, about 75 years B.C. It was THEY to whom Christ gave his sternest DENUNCIATIONS, and pointed out that THEY WERE OF THEIR FATHER, the Devil!
